SOMETHING that I've been thinking of doing for a while now, and after the huge success of my previous make-up posts, I thought this would be the perfect one to do from the amount of questions that I get asked about what foundation I wear. I do have my favourite one, but I also wear all five of these that I'm going to mention now.
So here are my top 5 picks, I literally love them all! But they all are quite different in terms of both the colour and the texture. Which I don't mind, because you can still create the same sort of look using them all.
1, Estee Lauder
This one is my all time favourite and I probably do wear this one the most. From the moment I brought this, I have never stopped liking it, and the amount of people that always ask me what I've got on when I do wear it because they say my skin looks amazing. It may be a little pricey but you can not go wrong with it at all, and I swear my first bottle last me for like a year, so it's really not too much when you think of it like that. You only have to use the smallest amount when you wear it because it spreads so nicely, and no lie.. it lasts from the minute you put it on until the minute you take it off.
2, Nars - Sheer Glow
This one I find it sort of similar to the Estee Lauder one in the way it spreads on your face and stays on all day, so that's why I love this one too! When you put this one, your skin literally feels so so soft, and the coverage is lovely. Same as with the Estee Lauder foundation, it is a little pricey, but when you put it on you should only need to use the tiniest amount, and it then lasts for ages.
3, Mac - Studio Fix
This is one that I think almost everyone has probably tried, or at least one kind of Mac foundation, and yes don't get me wrong I love their products.. but I do think that their foundation is probably my least favourite out of all their stuff. I love this look of this when it's on, but it is quite thick and it sometimes doesn't agree with my skin if I wear it too much, which I have never had a problem with any other make-up products at all! I've never heard anything bad from other people so it must just be me, but even so, I do love the finish it leaves when you wear it and I love this for a night out! Because it is quite thick, it really does just stay on and gives you that little extra that you need between normal everyday make-up to a more glam look.
4, Benefit - Hello Flawless
I've always had Hello Flawless, it is a lovely foundation and it was like the first 'more expensive' brand that I started to try other than your typical Boots, Superdrug brands such as Rimmel, Loreal etc. If you prefer a more natural finish to your skin, then this is perfect! I have heard a few people say they are not keen on this as they feel like it is a bit watery, which it can sort of look like when you put it on, but it does build up amazingly, and with a little bit of powder (which I always wear no matter what foundation) you will be fine! It's just the right thickness for that more natural everyday look.
5, Urban Decay - Naked Skin
This is my newest addiction to the make-up family and I've been meaning to buy this for so long! I've heard so many good things about this, and there's so many more foundations that I do want to try as well (which when I do get around to getting them, I will do another blog post) but it really is gorgeous on! This foundation is quite good for you skin as it has some natural ingredients in there (like green tea etc) which I like the thought off, as at the end of the day, it is your skin that you are applying all of these unknown products too and you really do have to take care of your skin. It's again, like the Benefit foundation, quite a thin one, but will a more built up look it looks amazing on! I love it!
Textures & Colours:
I've tried to demonstrate as best I can below the sort of textures between them all (as some are thiner than others) and also the difference in the way they look one applied slightly. Hope this little post has helped anyone who still haven't found their all time favourite foundation and if it is because they are quite expensive, which I can completely understand, at least go and grab yourself a tester so you can try them out because they really really are worth the money in my eyes. You get what you pay for :)
